Does the UFO hunt just cancel itself once you reach a certain stage of the game? Is the game aware of my preparations and intentionally screwing with me out of spite? I kept a high soldier count and then began to wait.
I burned intel to reveal every threat, always picking the UFO hunt one to sabotage, and focused resources on a defensive matrix early on. So after getting ABSOLUTELY WRECKED by a UFO hunt (even save scumming couldn't get me out of that one), I decided to start a new campaign in which I'd be totally prepared for it.
